X-Men: First Class (Trailer)

YES.

Yes, yes, yes.

"Excited" does not begin to cover my feelings towards this trailer. "Stoked" barely even does.

Yes.

Edit

...And I realize that on June 3, I will NOT be in the country. Or possibly in an area that has a legitimate theater that will play this.

$*&#^*@^#@*#!!!!

Must. Watch.

The Candy Shop (& other great films)

http://www.thedoorpost.com/

I came across the trailer for The Candy Shop not too long ago. Tonight, I discovered that the film was released recently & is being featured on The Doorpost Project, a film contest. I don't think it made it to the finalists, but I watched it anyways...really well-done.

I plan to watch more of these short films during my holiday on Long Island, which starts tomorrow. Yay.

Mac MacGuff: on love

I wrote this in my Moleskine journal when this movie first came out & my mind was whirling a bit.

Juno: I'm just like losing my faith with humanity.
Mac: Can you can narrow that down for me?
Juno: I just wonder if like, two people can ever stay together for good.
Mac: You mean like couples?
Juno: Yeah, like people in love.
Mac: Are you having boy troubles? Because I gotta be honest with you; I don't much approve of dating in your condition, 'cause well... that's kind of messed up.
Juno: That's not what it's about. I just need to know that it's possible that two people can stay happy together forever.
Mac: Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with.

Crush: Carey Mulligan.

Love her blonde.

So unbearably adorable.

I'm excited that she's playing Daisy Buchanan in the new Gatsby :)

Toy Story 3!

I will be honest & say that while I am a Pixar fan, I rarely take the initiative to go & see animated movies. I will also admit that I have never been a huge Toy Story fan (but that's probably due to the fact that I watched Toy Story once as a kid & don't really remember much of it since I was even less into animated movies then).

But fortunately, a dear friend of mine bought me a ticket & pushed me to go see Toy Story 3 on the opening night. I am very grateful as the movie deserves every good remark & rating it has received so far -- aka, it was AWESOME.

PLUS, it features my childhood pal Totoro (Miyazaki's first 3 films were of the few animated movies I adored as a child) along with a plush edamame doll! Toy Story goes Japanese.

Seriously though, it was a really superb movie. I was completely engaged the entire time, finding myself laughing at the clever comments, gripping my friend's arm at the scarier moments, & (yes) trying not to tear up at the sad parts. Brace yourself for some emotional moments, but overall it's a pretty touching, cute, & entertaining adventure of a movie. I approve. Completely.
